THE TRUCK SWAP

Our Alco RS-11, the NH 1402, had to be transported from Georgia to Danbury by rail.  Unfortunately a couple of the wheels were badly worn from it's many years of use in a granite quarry.  In order for the railroad to tow this unit over the federal rail system, the wheels needed to comply with federal standards.  Fortunately the wheels on our Alco FA1, the NH 0428, has similar trucks (wheels).  Thus a truck swap was in order!

The clean and energetic work crew ready to get started at 9:00 A.M.
